WIP Wednesday

Did you know there are colouring books for adults?  I didn't until I saw this book by Art Therapy at Paula's house at our Thursday sewing group and loved it straight away.

Wouldn't this make a great quilted panel?   There are so many ideas for applique and quilt patterns and even just admiring the pretty pictures!  This section of the book is called doodling and is full of really cool filler designs.

I'm really taken by this sun and moon!  Endless possibilities with free motion quilting, really makes me want to practice more!  And I love the message on the spine of the book.  Use your creativity to de-stress!

That's not happening around this neck of the woods at the moment!  I've had a tummy bug since last Thursday, my crafty space is a right mess and I've a deadline August 1st for a pattern I'm putting together for a baby quilt!

So WIP this Wednesday - get this mess sorted, so I can make test blocks and get on with making some stuff!

Then maybe buy some more storage boxes...

But look what I found tidying up.  Some stamps for paper crafts. Wouldn't these make really nice applique patterns?

  4. Do you want any more of those stamps? I have a small drawer full and I need to start chucking things out - once you're tidy and everything of course. Hope you feel better soon.

  5. Oh, I could definitely get sucked into a coloring book like that! I used to color in college as stress relief. :)

  6. Oh my goodness you are so right Ruth - at least the way you have filled the spaces it would make beautiful quilted designs! Thank you for sharing this on Bee Social! I hope you do make that sun and moon as a quilt! Feel better soon!

  7. You're right, those patterns would make lovely applique. I just went through some of my old teaching things and found some clip art books that went straight into the craft room. Inspiration is everywhere! I hope you feel better!

  9. Nothing like a deadline for motivation! A clean space is great, and unearthing forgotten treasures is a bonus. Hope you get your quilt finished in time, and that you feel better soon.
