I love the way pixel quilts create a recognisable shape from coloured squares and I've been playing with photo software, Pic2Pat cross-stitch software and an online program called You Patch to generate a pixel quilt plan. If you want to know more the post is live here!

Exploring Pixel Quilts - Guest Post on MQI

I'm a fan of Pic2Pat, I've been playing with it some recently. I just wish matching Kona solids to their recommendations was easier. :P
ReplyDeleteDid you see Kirsty's way of doing it? On her blog St Louis Victorian she went and bought the DMC thread recommended and matched that to fabric and her Kona colour card. Grand if you only have a few colours otherwise it could get pricey but seems like a good starting point at least!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of pixel quilts but I doubt that I have the fabric stash to turn them into reality :(
